MFdof - medium format adapter with macro glide
A DIY project, working a whole year on it. The goal was to make a lightweight adapter with macro glide.
Main features are: 55x41mm frame size, expandable body (macro glide) for filming very close objects with any medium format lens and maintain visible dof even with wide-angle (fisheye) lenses. The good things about this adapter are: lightweight, big GG (possible less grain than usual), and only 15mm distance from the camera (tested on Sony HDR-FX1 which has, in short, poor macro capabilities). Currently I am not satisfied with vibration (using a 18mm coin vibration motor), and with the fact I am unable to clean the GG perfectly :( ... but I am working on it. I am getting best results with a beattie, but also looking for other GG types, along with other camera types to test it (I am stationed in Croatia/Europe). Screens & info: http://rapidshare.com/files/159659585/mfdof.jpg Footage of adapter in action: http://www.vimeo.com/2125865 Download footage: http://rapidshare.com/files/15968529....rogoznjan.avi A m2t version also available (600MB) Thanks for any response and ideas.
