SG Blade ...

I haven't seen comments on the upcoming SG Blade on this forum, so, I thought I'd start one. I've always been a fan of Wayne Kinney. His philosophy has always been to keep the costs down on adaptors.
I've looked at the specs on the upcoming SG Blade and find that it appears to be a controlled
spin GG very much like the Ultimate.
It seems to me that all the adaptor makers are providing adjustable speed elements to their adaptors and this is a welcome characteristic to these adaptors. Price wise I'm a little hesitant to commit to the Letus Ultimate as that unit plus a relay lens for the EX3 will add up to quite a bit of dosh!
The differences between upcoming spin/shake control speeds, digital read out on these elements, quality GG (this is a very important element and all manufacturers are spending a great deal of time on this aspect of the adaptors), quietness of the units compared with their predecessors does not seem to be a giant leap in characteristics to zoom the price up there with top priced adaptors. That's just my opinion.

SG Blade - 35mm adapter

This could be an interesting summer with the Letus Ultimate released and
the SG Blade coming in August....

Here are the pics of the SG Blade...

They are targeting the SG Blade adapter at under $2k.. and this includes the rails... :-)

Both the Ultimate and the SG Blade look great

If your wondering the SG stands for Spinning Glass.

Both units ...

have controllable fast speeds on their spinning glass ... this is the basic difference to other designs! I've seen the ultimate proto-type in operation and I think if the SG Blade comes up to that level, it'll be a winner!

This looks VERY interesting. Especially for the price. Does August seem realistic?

Its good to see some compeition. I think the Ultimate is a great device but the price point adds up to an EX1 to get u interchangeble lens on the EX3. UInfortunately it is true that SLR lens are still moe affordable any time.

Hopefully Cinevate also springs back with something like the ultimate soon!

To me it's always felt as if Cinevate has had all the options Letus and SGpro have come up with, far before either had them.
