Did you mix with adapter and without adapter on the video or is it all Brevis shots? I love the split screen, nice touch.

Thanks. I mixed both In the beginning of the shoot I had a lens issue and shot some without until the first break so not to loose time.

Thanks for sharing.

The Brevis really improves the feel of the footage.

I like this look, so much better than huge 1/3" chip DOF.

Nice job.

One thing, the audio clipped a few times.

You might want to look at the level and pull it in a bit.

Did these guys buy the rights to this song and release their version?

Thanks for the comments.
Not sure about the rights but they did buy it from some where. I have to check the audio. Didn't get any clipping warnings in Avid or any over modulating in the monitors, is that how you found it?

Hey,

Yeah, a couple of times my headphones clipped at a low volume.

It may be the raw sound of the track.

It happens at around :33 to :40 when the vocals kick in.

Sorry if this is how it is meant to sound!

I gave it a try on here and I have BX-8 and BX-5s hooked up to my sound card and mixer and didn't hear anything nor see a redline. I will open in another sound program and see if that shows any clipping. Are you playing it in QT?

some very nice shots...good work!

but one thing...some of the shots were natural look and the others were
oversaturated (wich i personaly liked more, they reminded me on spike lee's clockers) but i could not see any reason in dramaturgy for this?

Aram,

Maybe is was a little hot when recorded and the wave got truncated.

I am sure your levels are fine since you checked them.

Sorry for focusing on a negative, but I am erroring on the side of caution if this if for a major release.

I listened to it again and what I am hearing is when he says "schooled", "vultures".

The lryics and the bass drum are too much when they are sounding together.

The track behind goes down in volume when he says "way I approach ya" and it levels out.

Good luck

No problem with the focusing on the negative, I want to know so I can fix or change. I have to see whats up with the audio. Maybe I have some filter on my sound card thats normalizing that I don't know of. I'll check it out on my daughters laptop with the good headphones.

The problem with the muted shots is that when I tried to saturate them they started looking too weird. I did think of maybe coloring the sky to bring in something than just grey, then boost the curves or something. Much to think about but keep it coming.

Aram,

Did you record the tracks or did you just shoot and edit with the supplied audio?

Tim,

No they gave me an MP3 of the song which I think they cut up to match the lyrics themselves. I am going to remix a few of there songs with new beats for them.
I didn't get a chance to listen for it again, been working on my new reel. Will try to figure it out tonight.
