Intercom/Mic reciever at DVinfo.net

I know very little about how intercom systems/microphone systems work. What I am trying to do: I want to be able to capture the audio from the announcer speaking on a intercom system. Is there a way I can get a reciever, hook to my mic input and recieve his signal? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

two techniques:

Mic an earphone.

Interface and adapt electronically between the intercom box. But this isn't neccessarily better than the first choice. It all depends on the intercom system.
