Some help needed with Lavs
Hello,
I have a few questions about lav's. Some Extremley basic questions. first and foremost, I'm shooting a 2 person interview (interviewer and interviewee) and want to run 2 wired lav's. Any recommendations on brands, and anything else I'll be needing? I'll be running to camera so what would I need? Beechtek? Nothin great or grand, its the sony vx2000. crazy question but I'd need to now how they hook up to the camera. Next, hand held mic and transmitter. how would I get the sound to camera on that? thanks for all the help. EDIT: I also read a bunch of the 'taste tests' here about mics and they are a fantastic help. Thanks guys. |

I don't know if your camera has XLR inputs. If it does, then you should be fine with most wired lavs. If not, you need some kind of adapter (beachtek) or mixer.
Countryman, Sanken, Sony, and Sennheiser are some of the usual suspects. I'll let others make more specific recommendations on lavs to look for. As far as the wireless hand held mic, you will need a receiver (presumably comes with the system). You then go from the receiver via XLR to your camera. Again, if you camera doesn't have XLR inputs, you need some kind of adapter or mixer. |
