Recording audio through firewire
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone out there knows of a program which will allow me to record audio, from a mic connected to my GL-1, directly to the hard disk without having to first record it to dv tape. For the sake of time, I'd rather not have to basically record it twice. Thanks. Matt ****** I figured it out on my own. The Premiere Help files are great. |

Doesnt the GL1 have a A/D pass thru? If so you will not need to record to dv tape at all.I ve done this with my sonys for transferring VHS into my G4 and it works great but the cams have the pass thru feature. what NLE are you using? i know FCP will allow audio recording.

For me, I just put my GL-1 into camera mode and then did the movie capture option within premiere and started recording. It came out fine and was just what I needed.

On some capture tools, you may have to disable "DV control" so it doesn't try to start the GL1 tape heads playing back when you hit the record button on the capture tool. Otherwise, it should be a straight through.
