M-Audio Fast Track Pro?
Is anyone here using the M-Audio Fast Track Pro? I've been searching the internet trying to find a professional review of this card, but all I can see are a few comments here and there (written by users).
This wouldn't discourage me from buying things usually, except that I've never used a soundcard like this before and some of the reports on this card was that it was not very good. I really like that this is USB and not firewire (because then I can use it on my laptop too), but I may have to consider getting the M-Audio Firewire Solo instead if the Fast Track Pro isn't well-regarded. Has anyone done a comparison between these two? Are they really that different? By the way, my needs are pretty basic I think. I just want a good sound card to power a set of monitors and have an XLR input so I can record directly to PCs with my mics if I ever need to. |

I've had good results with the similar M-Audio MobilePre USB. I use it when I need good audio in and out of my laptop, and my son has used it for his recording projects. This is all on PC.
M-Audio's ASIO drivers are good, and they've kept up with new OS releases. All in all a no-frills product that does what it says it does. I'm happy with it, and will continue to use it. Fast Track Pro looks like a more recent product with a few more features. |
