General Audio Info - techniques

I'd like to recomend the book "Professional Microphone Techniques" as an excellent source of basic to advanced knowhow of the audio recording side of what we do. Mike selection, placing, wiring and monitoring are well covered. It spends a fair amount of space to miking specific instruments as well as groups and narration recording.

EMBooks (Vallejo, CA) produces a series of books (this is just one) that explore all aspects of the sound field. Truly worth reading. It includes a CD demonstrating how different mikes and their placement effect the final product.
