Can you hear me now?

I'm looking to buy a shot gun mic that I can put in the quick-release holder on my JVCHD-100U. I will need to take it off and use it as a hand-held from time to time but I'd also like to be able to leave it in place on the camera for news interviews - cops by the side of a busy highway, firefighters in front of a blaze and those kinds of quick interviews.

Any ideas?

I was looking at the Sen ME66 or a RODE Video Mic .

Cheers,

T.

Both are good. The Rode has an unbalanced output while your camera has XLR balanced inputs so you'll need the Rode mini-to-XLR adapter. The Audio Technica 4071a or 4073a might also be worth considering.

Thanks Steve,

Should have noticed that - I am looking at the Audio Technicas now and they are about $300 les than the ME66.
