Edirol R-4, markers
I am interested in purchasing a few R-4's for my office, but I am curious about the markers feature. We intend to use the units to record audio at business meetings. Every time there is a presentation slide change, I would like to drop a marker in the audio.
Once I export the audio file onto our computers back at the office, how is this marker information stored? Is there a separate data file which indicates where the markers are, or are they embedded in the audio file? Will I be able to open up the audio file in SoundForge (or something similar), and have the markers remain? The marker location won't be perfect, so I'll need to move them around before splitting up the audio. Also, what is the maximum number of markers I can drop into an audio file. During a typical meeting, there could be several hundred slides... so the more markers I can use, the better! If anyone could please explain how the markers work, it would be very helpful. If there's another product out there which may fit the bill better, please let me know. Thanks! clay. (PS - Sorry, this is a bit of a cross-post. I was told this might be a better place to ask my questions.) |
