Oade Brothers Audio at DVinfo.net

Hey guys!

A while back I posted about purchasing a Marantz PMD-660 from Oade Brothers http://www.oade.com/. I went with the advanced mod (http://www.oade.com/digital_recorder...D-660MODS.html) and was very pleased with it. The difference in noise between their mods and the out-of-the-box unit was stunning.

At higher gains, I could detect a SMALL amount of noise. At lower gains there was absolutely no hiss/hum/anything unwanted.

I sent Doug at Oade Brothers an email about the low noise at higher gains. Keep in mind, I was really happy with the unit and thought that there was no way to get the noise level any lower. But...being a purist, I emailed him just to see.

Long story short, Doug now has the unit and the microphone I'm using with it. He just got through testing some new chips and is going to change the one out in my unit FREE OF CHARGE. I still can't see how the noise floor can get any lower but I'm glad I asked because Doug feels like he can improve it.

So...this whole thing is just to brag on Oade Brothers Audio. I HIGHLY recommend them for any of your audio needs.
