Another hypercardioid alternative?
Has anybody tried the earthworks mics? They are pretty flat, their preassure gradient mics have almost no off axis coloration and very smooth sound and very good on noise figures. I've tried some of their omni's and a cardioid once, tough for music recording and calibration/PA stuff... The last one was very natural sounding, with almost no coloration at the off axis, even for beign cardioid. I've notice they make a hypercardioid...somewhat pricey, but might be worth the shot for indoors...I suspect it might sound great for this application...has anybody try them for this aplication?
here's the model I'm talking about: http://www.earthworksaudio.com/15.html |

I've heard they are supposed to have a pretty
uncolored, natural sound. |
