XL-1: Using the shotgun and lapel mike simultaneously.
Hello Fellas,
I have learned a lot here, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to record through the shotgun mike (for ambience) and a lapel mike for voice simultaneously. Thank you so much! Michael |

I'm assuming your lapel is a wireless or something that plugs into the MA-100 or 200 using XLR inputs.
You can record in 4 channel audio but that uses 12-bit audio. Most NLEs require a second capture pass to get tracks 3 and 4. Or, you can just get an XLR shotgun to replace the stock stereo mic and plug it into your MA-100 along with your lapel. |

Thank you
Earnest, No I don't have a MA-100 (or 200) adaptor. The shotgun is attached at the front, and the lapel mike attaches in the inputs in the back (the red and white one ... the name slips my mind momentarily)
Guy, Thank you for the great article, I think it really answered my question (I think ;-). Off to try. Michael |
