Tips on acquiring audio from MediaStorm.org
I wanted to share some really great info I recently read that was well written by a friend by the name of Brian Storm. Brian is the former Lead Multimedia Editor over at MSNBC and a former VP at Corbis. His new venture "MediaStorm", has some great professional tips developed from over a decade of "in the trenches" gathering of field audio for multimedia. Mostly for stories that resided on the MSNBC.com website which is produced near here at Microsoft.
The article focuses on getting great audio to bring the audience closer into the story. Award winning digital still photographers are now gathering audio simultaneously to create some pretty powerful projects. Here is a link to the article, hopefully you'll pick up a trick or two, not just a tech tip, but a tip on how to interact with your subject and how to tell a story with audio. http://mediastorm.org/submissions/howto2.htm |
