48kHz / 24bit File Size Please

Can anyone please tell me the file size of an eight track audio file that is recorded in 48kHz / 24bit and lasts for one hour?

What speed or how long would High Speed USB 2.0 take to transfer this file size?

Many thanks
Neil

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 gigs. Unless I'm wrong.

48000 hz* (24/8) bytes * 8 channels * 60 seconds * 60 minutes = 4,147,200,000 bytes = approx 4 gigs

Hard drives should be able to get about 30 mb/s transfer for a big file like that. Not sure about how well USB2 works since I've never used it, but moving 4 gigs over firewire should only take a couple mins.. 2-3.
