AT4053 vs. AKG CK93

Howdy All-
Let me start by saying a big thank you to everyone who participates here in the various DVi forums, your knowledge and expertise has been and continues to be invaluable. CHEERS!

I have recently purchased the JVC HD100u and am in the market for a decent hyper-cardiod for mostly indoor/ some outdoor boom work. From reading the various threads I have gathered that the AT4053 and the AKG CK93 are both respectable "2nd tier" hypers. I was wondering if any of the audiophiles out there have experience with both, and could relate there opinions. I know that it would be best to try them both for myself, but I'm in a bit of a timecrunch, and don't think I can wait for the mail order rental solution.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Hi Sam,

For outside boom work, you need a shock mount and windscreen. If you don't want to spend money on windscreen, I have a diy solution for you.

Have a look at my post here for 0 dollar cost of a silk windscreen.

We use the AT4053 on a regular basis indoors and out and it works great. Sorry, but no experience with the AKG.
