Hey, where's my audio!
Shot a few scenes with my new XL2, bought my IEEE 1394 device, opened Final Cut Express and proceeded to capture (or preview video is more acccurate). I got no audio. I know it's there cause it's showing up on the FCE audio meter and on my headset as well.
Forgive me if this is the wrong forum but surely one of you have encountered this problem. Is it my set-up on FCE? I should mention that I did not alter the camera settings from the factory and I used the only microphone I have at this point--the camera mic. Chuck |

Hi Chuck,
Maybe a Mod can move this to the appropriate forum, but I wanted to get your question answered quickly. In the Log and Capture window, click the "Clip Settings" Tab Click "Preview" under Audio. They set it up this way so you're not hearing the audio of both at the same time. In version 1 they had 'em both on simultaneously and because of the delay of FireWire from the cam to the computer, the echo drove people nutz. |

Thanks, Guy. Man you are on it. BTW, I just read your post on mics. Really appreciate it. I gotta get rid of my lame dial-up AOL account. It took forever to open up the XL2 demo. I got weary and bailed out. I did order your lighting video (and the accompanying DVD).
