Wav file playback software to send midi
Hi Gang,
Perhaps you might know of a source for audio file playback software that will play the sound file out of the soundblaster and simultaneously play out midi commands to a lighting console. The goal is to have my lightboard accept the midi triggers from some kind of sequencing software to control a light show with pre-programmed midi assignments to beat etc. The lighting desk is the behringer 2412 with midi 5 pin din in and dmx out to the dimmer paks. Or another web resource? Thanks - Jimmy. |

I'm not familiar with anything that can do both simultaneously, but you can easily do this via midi in Sonar, ACID, Logic, and probably any MIDI capable tool. Just map your keyboard to specific lights, and send the midi signal to your controller. It then sends the on/off info via DMX. In fact, with some apps, you can use velocity to determine the intensity of the light. I've set up a Leprechaun board for this, and while the board can accept both MIDI and audio input, it won't accept both at the same time.

That was fast!
Thanks DSE.
I will try ACID to map the commands out. You are correct in that I will want to access the 0-127 sliders in the midi info for output intensity. |
