ISO Feature or TV Sound Mixers with stories
Hi all:
I write for HDVideoPro I pitched to my editor about an article centered on hearing stories from experienced sound mixers about difficult, unusual and innovative ways you guys have had to record sound. A for instance would be the first time Robert Altman used the "everyone wearing a wireless mic, being recorded to separate tracks for the MASH movie", with all of that overlapping dialog that became his style and the cameras far away so no actor could tell when they were on camera. Another story might be working in water, snow, jungle, etc. where you had to think outside the box to capture quality sound. This will be good PR for you, as a sound mixer, to appear in the article. No pay but good visibility with your name and story to about 100,000 producers worldwide. It would take about a 15-20 minute phone interview and bonus points to you for any photos or images that you might have that show you at work, the sound crew on the project, BTS stuff. Need to make this happen pretty quickly but if you are a pro sound mixer who has a good (technical audio challenge) story when working on a feature or TV show that the readers may have heard of, or if you have recommendations for any other sound mixers who you think might be a good fit for this and want some free PR and exposure. Feel free to reply in this thread, PM me or e-mail me capybara@verizon.net Thanks, Dan |
