audio switcher

I'm playing back videos for court. I'm often required to skip over sections they don't want the jury to hear. I do this by manually swapping the mini output jack from my laptop to external speakers and my headphones.

I'm looking for a simple switcher that I can hit a button to toggle between the two outputs.

Re: audio switcher

Thx I didn't think of looking on Amazon. I see devices there better suited to my needs. Mainly a passive not requiring power.

Re: audio switcher

Sescom also has a model that is A/Off/B with a slightly different form factor, if that would be beneficial.

Sescom SES-AB-SWITCH iPod/MP3 Player 3.5mm Stereo Audio A/B Switch

It's a few dollars more than the one you linked.

Re: audio switcher

I saw that one too and was considering it although it only had one review which complained about the switch being so hard that you had to hold it which seemed to negate it's form factor benefit.

Re: audio switcher

Rolls makes the passive MX-42 four-channel stereo mixer with RCA in/out, for around $45 USD. (3" x 2" x 1.4")

Re: audio switcher

All you need is a passive switch in a box with a few connectors. DIY candidate.

If you insist on buying pre-made, search eBay for audio switch and you'll find a gazillion of them, starting at $3.49 with free shipping. At that price it's not worth rolling your own.
