I bought one primarily for plugging into PA systems, but to be honest I haven't used it since I realized I prefer the reliability of cords to the convenience of wireless in most situations. Think of it as a convenience item rather than a necessity.

Do note that these are much cheaper when purchased as part of an ENG kit, so don't pay standalone retail.
