Clapperboard apps
I just had the idea "someone should write an app that turns a phone into a timecode clapperboard", and lo and behold a search for "clapperboard app" pulled up several.
I'm looking for one that will work well on my iTouch. I'd guess the most important thing would be making it easy to read on that small screen even if slightly out of focus. I would think having the whole screen flash would be useful. |

Re: Clapperboard apps
But wouldn't you then have to remember to turn off your phone immediately after you slate a take, to prevent it from ringing (or at least vibrating) at an inappropriate time?
Why not just build a dedicated "iClap"? Although "clap app" does have a certain ring to it... |

Re: Clapperboard apps
Just turn it to airplane mode to solve the ringing issue.

Re: Clapperboard apps
Check out Movie Slate. It's the best slate app I've seen. I only hope they eventually make one for the Android platform. Great features and you can even send TC to your camera.

Re: Clapperboard apps
Use it on an iPad. the price of the iPad plus the program is about $600 less than a Denecke Digital TC Slate.

Re: Clapperboard apps
Well unfortunately a cell phone can't hold sync like a Denecke TC slate.
