XLR Y to mini jack
I've been using a dual mono XLR into 3.5mm stereo jact for input into the back of my ZOOM H4n to record two mics at the same time....I realize I cannot set the rec levels individually but will it hurt anything to have to mic level XLRs y into the one stereo mini jack?

No - butI thought the 3.5mm stereo inputwas line level? I didn't know it had enough gain or mics. As you're doing it, I guess it must have - so thanks for the info

it's mic level but it doesn't support phantom power so the mics need to be dynamic or have their own power.
