H4N firmware update that enables...
a separate control on Ch1 and Ch2 via XLR!!!
I almost switch to Tascam DR-100... if this update was 3 days late... Here is the link to the firmware update from Zoom official website. http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/news/news411/index.php Last edited by J.J. Kim; November 19th, 2010 at 11:50 AM. |

Thanks for the heads up - I have now upgraded.
BTW the link didn't work for me - I had to go to ZOOM, wait for ever for it to load and navigate from there. (It might be the flash intro to the zoom website that's the prob.) |

I start the download and it completes but the file is not in the directory I downloaded it into. Anyone else having this problem?

WOW, this is huge! That's an impressive upgrade! The Zoom H4n has now officially become the best recorder. Thanks for posting the news.

Thanks JJ, this is great. My Tascam DR-100, which I smashed to pieces, just rolled over in its grave. Now I'm buying another Zoom.

I'm having issues with the firmware upgrade. Successfully installed it. Now I cant change it from Stereo to 4CH. It appears like that option was deleted from the menu. Searched everywhere and cant find it. Was wondering if anyone else was having that issue. Is there somewhere where I can download a previous version of the firmware? Thanks.

Not seeing that problem with my Zoom. Strange. Maybe something went wrong with your firmware update. May need to reset the unit (don't ask me how) and reinstall the firmware.

I've tried doing the factory reset 3 times. All it does is reset your settings to the original excluding the firmware. The firmware remains the same. I've tried re-installing the firmware various times, with the same result. Just with there was a previous version of the firmware I could download.
