Using Etymotics Earplugs on Z1
Spot,
I tried this thread on the Z1 forum but got no response. Might have been the wrong one - but as you're moderator on this forum it is far more likely that you will see it here. I know that you have both a Z1 and Etymotics ER6 earplugs from reading other threads, so I guess that you are the best person to ask this (If anyone else has this combination I would also appreciate their thoughts as well). Do the ER6's give enough output for good quality audio monitoring on the Z1? I want to go down the earphone route for many reasons when I travel light - and had toyed with the idea of getting the less accurate, but higher output ER6i's if the 6's were not loud (too high an impedance) enough with the Z1. Thanks for any advice.

The ER-6's are plenty good. I'm a huge fan of the Etymotic headphones. Just don't get the "i" version. They've got modified bass, they're not designed to be flat. On the other hand, if you want enhanced bass, get the "i" version.
