Audio Bags
Hello!
I'm looking for a decent bag to house my R-44, Mixer (MixPre, maybe 302 later) batteries, 2 receivers, cans etc. I found this bag and I wonder if anyone has it: Petrol PSDMB-302 Audio Mixer Bag 139.95 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...Mixer_Bag.html It doesn't specifically list that there's room for a recorder like an R-44 or R-4 pro, but I think I see an SD recorder in the photos. That's why I want a real person to confirm. I may have a decent gig next week out of the area, so I have to get on this. Luckily I have enough saved for my R-44 with an Oade Bros mod. Anyway I want a decent bag to house everything because I'll be walking around in the forest and I want one bag. It doesn't seem like there are a lot of bags in this price/size range, so this one needs to work. Anyone have it? Anyone have something comparable? There is also this cooler looking one, but I don't think it's available yet: Petrol PS607 Deca Mixer Bag 144.95 B&H Photo Video Digital Cameras, Photography, Camcorders Thanks for the help!

Hi Chad.
Looking at the photos it looks to me like they have an SD302/SD702 combo in there. Which, if so, would be perfect for me because that's the combo I use. Glad you posted this. Doesn't answer your question though. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in. |

According to the note at B&H, the 302 bag is no longer available.

I think that's because I got the last one! I was going to go for the new Deca 601: PS601 | petrolbags.com
But nobody has any, or any Petrol bags at all. I was going to bite the bullet and spend 250.00 on a larger bag than I need, and grow into it, but the little 302 at B&H was the only one anywhere. So I guess I'm lucky I'll have something for my gig. If it doesn't work out I can always return it and wait for a larger one to come in.

Ed I have considered KATA, as I have some of their camera bags. But KATA seems quite expensive for what you get. Like this one that's about the same size as the Petrol I ordered (even smaller): Kata SunDo-1 Audio Operational Case KT VD-130-1 - B&H Photo
It's more than twice the price. So I don't get wha the advantage is. My petrol should arrive today, and I'll see if that works. If not I'll be looking for something larger - like some of the new petrol "Deca" bags maybe.
