wireless mic...
So I dont know too much about mic for cameras, but I need to figure something out for a shoot i will be doing soon.
I need to know what a good quality wireless mic would be that is compatible for a Sony TRV950. I was told that the camera has a good shotgun mic on it, but that would only be good if the person is speaking directly to the camera, as far as I know. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should look for or even if I am using the correct term for the wireless mic? Thanks, Brian |

Well the TRV950 doesn't have a shotgun mic on it. It has an internal mic, but you are right that it won't sound very good. The best wireless mic kit based on price vs quality right now is the Sennheiser G3 system. I have the older G2 system and it is wonderful.

Alright just so I can get up to par with all this wireless mic stuff. With this Sennheiser G3, does that record the sound to the on board audio? In this case right to the MiniDV along with the footage.
And my other concern. Basically, this mic would be used connected to the persons shirt. A perfect example of what I would be shooting is similar to MTV Cribs. So the actor is not tethered to me and I know I am getting some decent audio. So, that said, is this mic still what I am looking for? I will continue to read into this mic. Thanks for the reply! |
