Question if you use a Zoom H4n digital recorder

How do I set the unit in 4CH or MTR mode?

The instructions say to hold down the menu button for more than 2 seconds but when I do that, nothing happens at all.

The unit is brand new out of the box so I don't know if it's defective.

The manual's wrong. Holding the MENU button down for two seconds does nothing but confuse the machine.

Just touch the MENU button lightly; it'll go into menu mode and let you scroll down to MODE.
