Roland Fantom X8 (who uses) at DVinfo.net

I am learning to play the keys and I am dreaming of owning a full workstation like the Roland FX8. I was wondering if anyone out there has used this machine and what is your experience. Frankly, is it worth the $3,000(+) or are there others that offer the same or better functionality for less? I don't plan to buy this right away, but maybe in a year or so. Given that point, I am just in the research phase. I am currently using a 61 key controller from edirol, but I have caught the "get your chops bug":-).
