Please check this for good prices on microphones

Since I don't know most of the microphones, I would appreciate any suggestion on which microphone from the list would be great for camera mounted (with options for stand mounting) to record live school cultural shows (without any amplified sound facility). I want to use it with my DVC-30. Last edited by Douglas Spotted Eagle; June 7th, 2005 at 01:54 PM. Reason: non-sponsor link |

KP, there are a lot of mics on that page, and all related to various purposes. Indoor? Outdoor? Stereo? Mono?
More information about your recording needs, beyond the type of camera would be great. We try really hard to support the people that support the DVInfo.net where we can, just as a side comment.

my requirements
Thanks a lot for your answer. Regarding my requirements, I just got a AT822, and it works fine with my DVC-30. I am looking at the next level mic for recording music/chorus at school performances and other events (piano recitals) where my son paricipates. Stereo recording is preferable but I can use mono if that improves clarity. I can either mount the microphone on my camera, or on a stand closer to the sound source. Most of my recordings will be inside (home, churches, schools etc). A shotgun, therefore, may not be very suitable.
Although I don't have an XLR adapter, I might buy one if needed. Please let me know if you would recommend anything from the list. |
