What the heck is Audix?
I was just talking to a dealer who swore up and down their modular series of small diaphragm condensers were fantastic quality rivaling Schoeps for nearly a quarter the cost. I've never heard of this company and can find little about them in here. Anybody like 'em?

Well don't bet on it. Audix has made some nice mics, but "rivaling Schoeps" is a claim made by many and, so far, has yet to be done. I'll know more soon. Ty Ford |

Audix isn't even REMOTELY close to Shoeps. They are imported mics, and while for drums, they are very good for live use, they are NOT at all a studio or video production level quality mic. Decent for live sound, a lot of bar bands, and maybe one or two major acts use them, but that's where it ends.
