Sennheiser EW100 Mics working too low in Camera
Hello there,
I just got 2 EW100 mics with their receiver, but when i connect it to my camera i dont get the correct audio levesls. I tried the following. Option1. A. Connect the mic to mic input. XLR B. Put the input in mic mode. Result. Audio levels too high and saturated even it is to the minimun. Option2. A. Connet the mic to mic input. XLR B. Put the input in Line Mode. Result. The audio levels are no more saturated, but no they are way too low, i can only use it when in premiere i raise the audio Gain to 20db. I am using a DVC80 and a DVC60 in the DVC80 the option 2 is too low that i cant use it, but in the DVC60 i get it like i told you before, i also have a problem that when i raise too much the audio gain, i start get a high tone that i have to remove it with noise reduction software. Any help, or i am missing another component between the mic and the camera? Thanks for you reply and for reading this.

Is this the original version of the Sennheiser 100 or the newer G2 version?
I know the newer version has a menu setting on the receiver that can give you the correct output level. Someone more familiar with these units will surely comment soon. They are very popular models of wireless. |

Dear Agus,
I assume that you are using mic level inputs, in order words your camera is set to mic level via the menu. I use a simple radio shack adapter to plug in the outputs of my Sennheiser 100 receivers to the audio 1 inputs, then I set the level to microphone. Then, you may adjust your camera gain, and most importantly, the output level on your Sennheiser 100 receiver. There is a knob on the side of the unit that does this.
