Two questions (AT825 and Marantz 660 w/OadeBro mod)

Hi all,

1. Does anybody have any experience with the AudioTechinca 825 stereo mike?

2. Does anybody have any experience with the Marantz 660 with the Oade Brothers pre-amp modification ?

Thanks,
Isaac

I have experience with the AT825. It performs well for its mid-level price point and is a convenient size and weight for field work.
It can run on battery or phantom power. The 5-meter cable it comes with can be inconvenient if you don't need that much length, but there are shorter alternatives available.
This mic is very susceptible to wind noise and needs specialized protection for use outdoors. It has higher self-noise than more modern designs like the Rode NT4 and it has no pattern controls like much more expensive stereo mics from Shure and Sony.
