Need live recording limiter plugin
Hey gang, what's a good live recording limiter to get (in the form of a plugin)?

What exactly are you looking for?
A hardware compressor/limiter to use so your inputs don't overload for live recording. The RNC Compressor from FMR audio is very nice... $300USD or so and very transparent compression/limiting. OR A plug-in for use in a computer audio program. prorec.com has great information on either. It has a review of the RNC compressor (and others) and also reviews of various compression plug-ins. (To clarify: A limiter is just a particular form of audio compression. The compression I'm talking about is dynamics/volume compression and not to be confused with the other kind of compression like mp3s.) |

Dwight,
I use a dbx over-easy, cheap (under $200). What I use: pzm -> preamp/phantom -> dbx compressor -> canon XL-1 -> Scenalyzer (for the other sound channels) -> premiere pro -> (sometimes audition) -> encore Brad |
