Senn G2 accessories? at DVinfo.net

I've been comtemplating purchasing a Sennheiser G2 100 wireless mic, but I'm wondering what accessories and such might be available for it. For example, can you buy/build an adapter cable to turn it into a wireless instrument pack? I know AT has such a cable for their systems -- I used it once on a 3000 series beltpack (but its receiver is not portable). Also, I understand that the G2 receiver does not have a dedicated headphone-out jack, but can the normal output drive a pair of earbuds (can you say wireless monitor)?

My point is that since I won't be using it with my camera all of the time, I'm wondering if there are other uses for the system (since I'm also a musician). If not, can anyone recommend a more suitable system in the $500 range?
