Zoom H4N audio problem
Used it to record audio this weekend for a 5D mkii shoot.
Transferred the files to my mac. The main audio clip I need is 440Mb, but does not play, has a duration of 0, even on the H4N device itself. How can it have a huge file size and yet there is no audio? Any ideas? |

Sounds like a corrupted file. Did the recorder shut off. (dead batt) before finalizing?
When I encounter problem files, I change the extension to ".raw" and open in Sound Forge, then re-save as a WAVE or AIFF. But that's Windows. Don't know about a Mac. |

Can you give us anymore background on the circumstances? My H4n should arrive any day now and I'd like to learn what you think may have happened.
I did have problems at first with my original H4 trying to use cards that were too fast and having files disappear or drop out of recording mode etc. I also had one brand of regular slower SD cards which would have a glitch at about 30 seconds into the first recording after a card was formatted in the H4. Other than those early hiccups it's worked very well but I'm looking forward to having a real time and day associated with the recorded files on the H4n! |
