Advice request for Wireless Systems

Hello, I'm an freelance recordist that has expanded into assisting others with video projects. I'm completely green to wireless (audio) systems.

I live in Tampa Bay, FL so I need a system that doesn't uses the bands that were sold off recently.

I need something on the lower side of a budget (sub $1000) but can be completely run off of batteries. I need to run this into a portable recorder and not into a camera.

Thanks!

Sennheiser G3 for around $500, and a better lav, say Tram or Countryman, for $2-300.
