Dallas?
Hey gang, I'll be doing some training at a television station in Dallas next week, staying at the Hilton Garden near Love Field.
If there are any of you in that area that would like to get together for a small dinner gathering, we're gonna get together at 7:30 on Wednesday at the Hilton Garden. Would love to meet some of you.

Spot -- what are your exact dates in Dallas? Turns out I'm up there on the 20th and 21st, possibly the 19th. Would be great to hook up, seeing as we missed each other at GV Expo!

Monday the 19th (in late) til Thurs the 21st. (leaving early)
Would be great to have a beer over some dinner or something. I looked for you twice at Expo, heard you were sneaked into a private room near where we were training and you didn't even come into our track area.... Mannie said he'd seen your mug though.

Actually I was in the same private room on Wednesday that you were in on Thursday. But I had to sneak in; you had an invitation. I ran into Mannie on my way over to your track area but I just missed you -- I think at that time you were probably looking for me on the floor maybe. Caught sight of you once way down the hall on the main entrance level, but I'm not the type to yell out (call me subtle, I guess). Dinner on Wednesday eve. sounds great -- anybody else want to turn this into to Dallas DV Info group meeting? There's a bunch of good restaurants not far from Love Field, at the I-35 and US183 area...

Count me in! It'll be great to meet the kennelmaster himself along with DSE. So Doug, what's your food preference. As Chris alluded to, there are plenty of good restaurants not far from you.

I'm a meat eater. not necessarily hung up on steak or anything, but I'm only a veghead in the Vegas sense, not the food sense.
:-)

In that case, may I recommend Paul's Porterhouse at 10960 Composite Dr., right in that area. It's a one-of-a-kind steakhouse, they do their own cutting onsite and it's not a chain. My father-in-law swears by this place as one of the best in Dallas and it's pretty close to Love Field.
Of course I'll defer to Greg for any other suggestions since he actually lives there... |

I'll need a ride, as I'm being carted around by Sony, hence my suggestion of eating at the hotel. Since it's a Hilton, they've got a pretty good restaurant, but I'm good either way...Perhaps I can grab a cab. I've never stayed near Love, so don't know that area like I know DFW.

That is a great suggestion Chris. It is indeed considered by many to be one of the best in Dallas.
Another good one is a bit further north towards me in Addison. It's called Fogo de Chao and is a Brazilian steak house. The salad bar alone leaves nothing else you could think of to put on or in a salad. This is an all you can eat type of thing where they keep bringing you eight different kinds of meat. They give you a marker in front of your plate that is green on one side for 'yes, I want more' and red on the other for 'no thanks'. Reservations are needed though. Maybe we can save that one for a future visit. Looking forward to it. =gb= |

Spot, while you're contemplating future Miami dates for Bruce's benefit, just wanted to let you know that I'll have a car there and I'll be more than happy to swing by and pick you up. In my best Rain Man imitation: "I'm a good driver. I'm a very good driver." Surely you'll want to get out of the hotel?
Greg, I'm good either way. I was just at Paul's Porterhouse last month. You're talking about "Restaurant Row" up there in Addison all along Belt Line. Great area. Sounds fine to me no matter what; it's all good. |

I don't mind being in the hotel, only because I'll only be there for a few minutes by the time you pick me up. I'm teaching til 6:30 that night.
Do you have my cell? I'll send privately if you don't.

Paul's Porterhouse it is then. Want to shoot for around 7:30?
By the way Chris, I was very envious when Boyd O. said you guys had lunch at Chuy's in Austin. I haven't been down there in awhile but it's on my must eat at list when I'm there. That and Rudy's BBQ. =gb= |

K, Chris, I'll see you at the hotel, and see others at Paul's Porterhouse.
For those that are Vegas users, you'll get a sneak preview of some new tools. The Beta expires a couple days after we'll be meeting, so I've gotten 'permission' to show something fun.
