Sennheiser G2 Wireless

Anyone know of a dealer who has this in stock?
A few places are advertising them, but don't have
them yet. I've heard one was actually spotted in
field use. I was thinking of maybe getting the
AT U100 system till I realized that their advertising
is deceptive regarding the transmitter power
output, which is down quite a bit on the Senn.
What AT does is list a MAX output in some brochures
but when you dig deeper the actual spec is much
lower. I saw where an AT tech guy admitted this.

Dave, am waiting for one myself. I'm on the list for one of the six (ENG packages) that are due in at a shop around here. Will let you know as soon as I get a call.

I called Sennheiser directly about this. End of the month is the official word too.

Yep I got it last friday as promised. It shipped directly from Sennheiser.

The funny thing is I called half a dozen stores and all of them said it was not in stock and Sennheiser did not have it in stock. Then all of a sudden Soundprofessionals tells me they can have Sennheiser drop ship it to me. I was skeptical, but they came through.

Peace, Rolland

Rolland, did you get the ENG package or the one w/o the plug on?

Haven't heard a peep from where I have mine on order.

I got mine, without the plug on Tx.
One thing that's really nice versus the first generation is the
hot shoe mount. Also nice is the use of AA batteries as against
9V, the PILOT tone feature (to better hold the signal), and
the scan for free channels.
The ENG kit is not yet out. Maybe beginning of June.

Shoe Mount for Sennheiser Wireless

The shoe mount attachment will be available as a separate accessory and is also compatible with the older/original EW receivers.

I was told yesterday that the release/delivery of the ENG version of the G2 has been pushed back until mid June. Has anybody else heard this? Since I leave for my 8 week shoot on the 11th, and I've been waiting (and waiting) for this to come in, I'm getting a little antsy.
