This video is mighty interesting:

Looks like that little X2Y piece might be able to knock out all of that GSM buzz!

In other news: Upon further testing, I have discovered that the microphone itself is NOT the point of entry of the noise. It is, instead, the thin wire that connects the microphone to the power pack. Perhaps (hopefully!) soldering some of these X2Ys on the actual circuit would rid of the noise completely.
