Thanks, Bryan and Jan.

So which is the better supercardioid mic, the Apex 191 or the Azden 990? And how do they compare with the more expensive Panasonic Stereo zoom mic VW-VMS1?

I'm looking for a small, cheaper, but good mic I can use on my MX300 and possibly with the DVL9500.

you missed my reply a few posts back. i'll try and do some test clips for you.

The Azden will be cheaper and it has a 1/8"stereo jack . Anything else would need an XLR adapter. Have you had a look at any of the small sony mics with the 1/8" mini jacks ?

I had a Sony mic with the small jack about 4 years ago. I used it about 3 times, and then it stopped working.
