External Mic for a 953
I would like to get an inexpensive (therefore wired) external mic for interviews. How do I go about making sure that the mic is compatible with the DV953 camera? The manual states the following regarding the Mic input.
Mic sensitivity -50dB (0 dB = 1V/Pa, 1kHz) (Stereo mini jack) I thought that I would have to match impedance? |

I don't know about impedance (may be any from 200Ohm to 2kOhm wil work) but be sure to be powered mic.
The cam's mic imput is not plug in power type so it'll NOT supply power to your mic. Be sure to have battery as some of the new low cost commercial mics come without even battery power relying on the cam's plug in power. |
