Audacity for sound editing
First of all, maybe my sound editing needs are bellow average of people here, but I discovered this FREE sound editing software a few weeks ago, and I loved it!!!
Audacity is now available in version 1.2 beta and there is nothing I usually make with soundforge (something like 400$) that this software does not make and the learning-curve is almost inexistant. More! It is available for PC, Mac and Unix platforms! Take a look at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ and let me know what you are thinking about. PS: I do not have any relationship with the people who made this software.

People usually don't tend to switch applications they know, trust
and can easily work with. I will however pass this link on to my audio guru and see what he thinks of it!

Looks pretty cool. I do a lot of audio editing. I still use CoolEdit96, which fires up instantly. By the time other apps start up, you can be nearly done with basic edits. Same deal for
image editing. By the time Adobe Photoshop is ready to go, an OLD version of PainShopPro has helped me finish the job. |
