wich handrecorder is best to connect mixer at DVinfo.net

hi,

in my quest to find a solution for the bad hdv sound i came across handrecorders.it seems to be possible to connect a handrecorder like the RO9 and the zoom H4 to a mixer and use it as a fieldrecorder. is this a good alternative?
i would be using a next to my A1 a fieldmixer like the FP 33 and go from xlr to mini plug line in...anybody has some experience or tips on quality, use, etc
