table-top wireless mic system needed
I need to buy two lavalier wireless mic systems (different channels) to use for public address work for a club I belong to. The amplifiers that I'm using can handle either a 1/4" or RCA input (no XLR). They don't need to sound great (speech only, not for recording), but the mics need to easily pick up the speaker (obviously) and less distortion is always better. I was hoping to only spend around $100 per system.
I found an old, unused system from Radio Shack sitting around in a storage shed, and the concept is right but the mic sucks. So that makes me nervous about just ordering something unheard. I found a couple of systems at B&H that might do the job: Audio-Technica ATW-251: http://tinyurl.com/4v83oa Azden 200-LT: http://tinyurl.com/6lwqut Any advice on what I should look for in a system like this? Also, is a VHF system ok for my purpose, or am I better off with UHF (which would cost more)? Thanks a ton! -Terence |
