Beachtek DXA-4P/S/C Does it really matter?
I own a GL1 and have recently acquired an AT-835B. I'm on the prowl for an XLR converter and the Beachtek seems to be ticket after hands on use and research. However, as I'm looking at the website for Beachtek I see a number of diff boxes/models, however all the specs are the same. Why are they designated different model numbers then? All the dimensions are the same (sans the DXA-2, I'm only talking about the DXA-4 series).
Hmmm, methinks I smell a marketing trick.......Anyways, would it be safe for me to get another box in the DXA-4 series besides the DXA-4P? (which is recommended for the GL1/2) Maybe you'll see a spec that I missed and can fill me in. Muchos gracias! PS - if you have a diff. XLR to mini plug converter that you use/like better, please tell me about it! I'd like to hear about it.

DXA-4 is custom fit for VX1000 and VX2000 whereas DXA-4P is custom fit for GL-1 and GL-2. If buy DXA4 without the P for your GL-2, surely it will work but will not fit exactly at the bottom of your camcorder, the screw on both adapter has different location to fit a camcorder model.
