Tascam FireOne

Anyone using a Tascam FireOne firewire audio/MIDI/control unit?

I bought one anyway. Anyone want a short user review? I've been using it with Final Cut Studio. It fits easily on my desk and offers more than just a shuttle/jog wheel.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.
In Final Cut do the faders accurately move upon playback after you have enabled "Record Audio Keyframes"?
I just got a Mackie Control Universal and the faders fly during playback with Logic, but not FCP. When the Playhead is parked in FCP, the faders jump to the correct position. I have Macke CU chosen as the Control Surface in FCP.

Hello Doug

Bit of an old topic, but I was wondering if you could eloborate a bit on how you use it in FCP and how did you get it to work.

I just bought one, mainly for using in logic, but I want to use it for FCP as well but I just don't get it to work

They seem to though I'm not sure how "accurate" their positions are nor does it really matter since it is the software that is setting the actual gain. One thing I have noted is that FCP's mixer window must be open for the MCU to respond to FCP at all.

Now here's my question: has anyone gotten a MCU to work with MOTU's DP 5.13? I have not (G5 with dual Intel dual cores) but haven't tried very hard as DP 6 ships soon.
