Retrofitting timecode option in a Fostex FR2
Anyone done this themselves, or through a dealer? It looks like some disassembly is involved, but I'm wondering how hard it can be.
Does the card come with instructions of how to fit + warranty disclaimer? Or a list of authorised dealers who could fit it? Anyone know a good authorised dealer in the south of the UK? TIA

When I purchased the TC option to upgrade one of our FR-2, I had to get an RMA return auth. number from Fostex and send it to them. Bought the card through a dealer.. never saw the card. sent FR-2 to Fostex. Took a MONTH to get it back. Fostex's usual good service went south with backordered parts.
BTW, I was using another FR-2 with the TC installed and I literally smoked the TC card.. puff of smoke came out. Unit dead. Sent to Fostex and it came back in 2 days! No Charge. |
