Canon XH-A1 + Mackie 1202?
I would like to use this combination of camcorder and mixer. I assumed I'd use the XLR line-in option on the Canon, but so far my best results have come from using the Canon's XLR mic-level input and the attenuated mic output from the mixer. I'm probably making a simple mistake, but perhaps someone here can help me understand if the two devices are compatible to begin with.
From the Canon specs under the XLR input I get: 6 dBV (Auto mode)/10 kohms (LINE/MIC switch set to LINE) -59.d dBV (Auto mode)/600 ohms (LINE/MIC switch set to MIC) From the Mackie specs for "Main Output" I get: "Using balanced XLR-3-M-type connectors, maximun output of +28dBu, including 1 Main Output Level switch to provide 30dB attenuation." and "Output impedance: Tape Out, 1.1 kohms; all other outputs, 120 ohms." The "30dB attenuation" refers to the switch which provides the mic-level output from the mixer, I believe. I hope this is enough information. Thanks. |
