To divide it even further there is
* On location sound * In studio recording and ADR * Music for video and film * Sound design: effects and foley * Mixing and mastering Some aspects, like music composition, are kind of a production unto themselves. Consider that when a film uses Beethoven's music, the composition was pre-pre-production. ;) But based on the balance of traffic on this site, one group for sound acquisition (mics, wireless, mixers and recorders), and another for all other aspects of sound would make sense.
